Visa Infinite credit cards have a great benefit for Golfers that most cardholders aren’t even aware of.  It’s called the Visa Infinite Golf Benefit and it’s can save you a bunch of money on your next golf trip!

If you have a Visa Infinite branded credit card, you’ll receive both discounts and access to some great (and often private) golf courses.  Here is everything you need to know:

What is the Visa Infinite Golf Benefit?

Visa credit cards come in a couple of different flavors.  They are Visa, Visa Signature and Visa Infinite.  Visa Infinite is the highest-level of Visa branded credit card and carries some of the best benefits.

There are only a couple of credit cards that provide Visa Infinite Benefits.  They are the Chase Sapphire Reserve card and the City National Bank Crystal card.  If you have one of these cards, keeping reading.

Troon Rewards Golf Benefit

The Troon Rewards Golf Benefit gives Visa Infinite cardholders the ability to reserve tee times at participating Troon Privé private clubs at a rate of $99 (+ Tax where applicable) per player per round. A Visa Infinite cardholder can bring up to three guests at the same $99 rate and play each course up to two times per year.

The cardholder is will also receive complimentary Gold status in the Troon Rewards program.  Gold status will give you a 15% discount on golf greens fees (reserved on the Visa Infinite Troon website) and on merchandise purchases made at the golf properties when using their Visa Infinite credit card.

The only catch is that your reservation must be made on the Visa Infinite Troon website using your Visa Infinite credit card.   You cannot just book a tee time through the pro shop and expect to have this discount.   All service-related questions should be directed to the Troon Concierge at 1.888.876.6687

Golf courses you can play with the Visa Infinite Troon Golf Benefit

There are currently 23 courses available with the program.  There are a couple of courses on the list that stood out to me.

The Silverado Golf Resort in Napa is the home of a PGA Tour Safeway Open.  It’s always great to play any course that is capable of hosting a PGA event!

The Tiberon Golf Course at the Ritz-Carlton Naples is host to events on both the LPGA and PGA.   Tiberon Greens fees average $250 per player.  This card would save you $600 on one round for a foursome!  Most people will not pay $250+ each to play, but $99 is a very reasonable amount to pay for a top golf course like Tiberon.

Terms & Conditions of the Visa Infinite Troon Golf Benefit

  • U.S.-issued Visa Infinite cardholders are invited to reserve tee times at participating Troon Privé private clubs at a rate of $99 (+ Tax where applicable) per player per round. Cardholders may bring up to three guests at the same rate on each tee time they make and may play each Troon Privé course up to two times per year.  Request a round by using the form provided at troongolfrewards.com/visainfinite. (Restrictions on course availability may apply)
  • An eligible U.S-issued Visa Infinite credit card is required for tee time reservations.
  • U.S.-issued Visa Infinite credit cardholders are entitled to receive complimentary Gold Status in the Troon Rewards program. Existing Troon Rewards members will be upgraded to the next membership level.
  • At the Gold and Platinum membership levels, the cardholder will be entitled to a 15% and 20% discount respectively on golf fees reserved on the Visa Infinite Troon website or on merchandise purchases made at the golf properties when using their Visa Infinite credit card.
  • Troon, Visa or its issuers or any of its concierge providers are not responsible for any claims or damages arising from this offer.
  • By reserving through Troon, the cardholder consents to be bound by all the terms and conditions, as stated herein.
  • Troon and Visa reserve the right to modify or cancel this offer at any time without notice.

Do any other credit cards offer Troon Golf Benefits?

If you do not have a Visa Infinite Card, you can still receive some Troon Golf Benefits with your Visa Signature Card.  The Visa Signature cards also offer some Troon benefits, but they are not quite as good.   Below are the terms of the Visa Signature Golf Benefit.

  • U.S.-Issued Visa Signature credit cardholders are entitled to receive complimentary Silver Status in the Troon Rewards program. Existing Troon Rewards members who have already attained Silver Status or higher will be upgraded to the next membership level.
  • An eligible U.S-issued Visa Signature credit card is required for tee time reservations.
  • At the Silver, Gold, and Platinum membership levels, the cardholder will be entitled to a 10%, 15% and 20% discount respectively on golf fees reserved on the Visa Signature Troon website or on merchandise purchases made at the golf properties when using their Visa Signature credit card.
